Quote - Feel it

There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.
There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don’t you?

Travel Adventures :: Day 6

See the posts for Day 1, Day 2, Days 3, 4, & 5, and Day 7.

Sunday concluded Feast Retreat. We hugged, said our goodbyes, and continued to travel our separate paths. I left Gig Harbor with my well filled and my heart open wide.

My travel adventure guided me through the mountains headed to Portland, OR.

In Portland, I parked my rental and set out on foot across the Burnside Bridge and snapped a few photos along the way.

This is a picture of the Saturday Market (& Sunday) from the bridge.

My feet let me to claim a doughnut from the world famous Voodoo Doughnut. And yes, they really are yummy!

I purchased a pass for the Portland Streetcar and toured the city loop until I had a lay of the land. I hit a few shops (Anthro and Dick Blick) in the Pearl District.

I enjoyed a falafel pita and taro bubble tea at The TeaZone and Camellia Lounge and made a stop at the legendary Powell's City of Books.

I ended up in the sweet Nob Hill district to hit up Lush and a few other shops. I couldn't resist the urge to take this photo which happens to be located on Lovejoy Street.

After wearing myself out sightseeing I made my way back to my rental to head to the hotel to crash out. Along the way my animal spirit totem made a guest appearance.

Tomorrow will conclude my travel adventures!

Hugs,

Travel Adventures :: Days 3, 4, & 5

See the posts for Day 1, Day 2, Day 6, and Day 7.

I arrived a Frog Creek Lodge on Wednesday evening (Day 2) to meet the beautiful souls that I had begun to know online. We spent the next 3 days together in the lodge crying, laughing, and crying some more. We waded through the muck, unloaded our burdens, and walked towards the light. We dared to dream, stood in our truth, and created life-long bonds. We feasted on life.

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

~Derek Walcott

We circled.

Created altars.

Walked the labyrinth.

Hiked the trails.

Visioned.

Created meditative art.

And magical poetry.

Met the waters edge.

Bravely danced.

Nourished our bodies.

And our souls.

Marveled at the sweet details.

And we feasted on life.

Hugs,

Travel Adventures :: Day 2

See the posts for Day 1, Day 3, 4, & 5, Day 6, and Day 7.

So on Wednesday I woke up at 6am and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally realized that it was 8am at home which is then time I would usually sleep in until on the weekend. I got up and went for a drizzling stroll down to the Pike Place Fish Market.

After a nice walk and breakfast, I got packed up and hit the road.

And entered Canada to take a drive up to Vancouver.

After a few hours of driving and shopping I drove back to the Seattle area.

I arrived at Gig Harbor to meet-up with the lovely ladies I would be spending the next several days with at Feast Retreat.

More tomorrow!

Hugs,
