Travel Adventures :: Days 3, 4, & 5

I arrived a Frog Creek Lodge on Wednesday evening (Day 2) to meet the beautiful souls that I had begun to know online. We spent the next 3 days together in the lodge crying, laughing, and crying some more. We waded through the muck, unloaded our burdens, and walked towards the light. We dared to dream, stood in our truth, and created life-long bonds. We feasted on life.

Love After Love 

The time will come 

when, with elation 

you will greet yourself arriving 

at your own door, in your own mirror 

and each will smile at the other's welcome, 

and say, sit here. Eat. 

You will love again the stranger who was your self.

Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart 

to itself, to the stranger who has loved you 

all your life, whom you ignored 

for another, who knows you by heart. 

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, 

the photographs, the desperate notes, 

peel your own image from the mirror. 

Sit. Feast on your life.

Hiked the trails.

Visioned.

Created meditative art.

And magical poetry.

Met the waters edge.

Bravely danced.

Nourished our bodies.

And our souls.

Marveled at the sweet details.

And we feasted on life.
