Opening up for the new

Recently I shared how I feel like something’s brewing in my life right now, like I’m about to enter a new phase (Waiting. Patiently.). I’m still not sure of what this “something” is but I know it’s going to be a big change.

Newness generally causes a bit of anxiety. We don’t know what to expect or how to react. Most of the time our fear tells us that change is a bad thing. This isn’t always the case. If we didn’t face change, how else would we evolve? Change allows us to move from one chapter to the next, one stage ending and a new one beginning.

How would a caterpillar become a butterfly if it wasn’t for change?

This is the time to lean into that change and trust that whatever lies ahead for us is even better than what we could ever dream of. I’m open to the new, the scary, the exciting – the next chapter in my life. When it’s ready to unfold, I’ll be here ready too.

Waiting and being patient are difficult. You are right - it can induce anxiety. My hope for you is that you can find that place of serenity - that place where new means exciting and brave and adventurous. You are doing such amazing work - you are an inspiration! I can see your wings unfurling!
