On the web

Happy Friday, lovelies! I'm finishing up my last workshop with the WishBIG ecamp, Soul Food for Dreams by the fabulous Violette. Here are my inspiration cards I made a few nights ago.

These will be perfect for when I'm stuck and need a creative prompt to get me inspired!

I'm excited to have just finished my IKEA drawer revamp inspired by Curly Girl Design.

Bella helped me out.

I like how it turned out and will be perfect to hold my art supplies so I can lose the plastic baskets! Here's Leigh's tutorial on her Delightful Drawers.

I'm off to get some chores done so I can go for an early hike tomorrow. Enjoy the links below and have a great weekend!

- Create as Folk shared this upcoming Passion to Profit series that begins on Monday. Can't wait to dive in!

- I love to Create shared this Spoon Poetry Tutorial from Kelli Nina Perkins. So creative!

- Going Home to Roost shared this Eggstra Special Chick post. What a cute idea for Easter!

- I love this post by Scoutie Girl, Opportunity: Your Obligation as an Artist. It's all about connecting with others through our art and the relationships we form from our art.

- One Pretty Thing gathers wonderful articles and tutorials such as this "Get your Peeps on." printable from Flamingo Toes for Easter. Who doesn't love Peeps?

On the Web

I hope everyone had a wonderful week and looking forward to the weekend. I'm home suffering from an ugly sinus infection but hope to be back up and at it soon.

Here's a few pics of my chakra booklet I made in Andrea Schroeder's Rainbowlicious Creative Healing Circle workshop from WishBIG ecamp:

throat chakra page
third-eye chakra
In case you're not quite sure what a chakra is, a chakra is an energy center and many are found throughout your body. There are 7 main chakras - base or root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third-eye, and crown chakra.  These run from the base of your spinal column (root) to the top of your heat (crown). Each chakra is connected to our emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Since chakras pick up various levels of vibrations, they can become blocked and congested at times. Chakra-clearing/balancing meditations and color therapy can help. As can keeping in tune with your belief system and positive thoughts to "charge" your chakra centers.

I'll keep this week's On the Web short and sweet:

- Goddess Leonie has done it again! This week she shared more business goddess goodness for us here and here from her Biz & Blogging Goddess 101 series.

- Connie from Dirty Footprints Studio shared this wonderful post, Art as Nourishment, about making art a natural part of your daily life.

On the Web

Happy Saturday! I'm a day late posting since my allergies were kicking my bootie yesterday and my internet was down this morning. The image above is my inner icon I made with Kelly Barton's workshop with the WishBIG ecamp, Find Your Inner Icon. So much fun!

Here's a little inspiration I found on the web this week:

- Danita shared this super sweet paper doll owl printable over at My Owl Barn.

- I love Violette's interpretation of spilling open. Also, if you've never heard of or used Wordle, her post here shows you how to use it to make word clouds. So fun to make!

- Alisa Burke shared this tutorial on how to make a spring wreath from butcher paper. So cute and simple!

- Choosing Beauty shared a great post, Healing from a heART attack here. My heart just opened wide to engulf Liv and her friend after reading Liv's post on how a fellow artist could be so cruel.

- Kind Over Matter shared this video, When People Do You Wrong, from Marie Forleo which couldn't have come at a better time! It's about the difficultly of forgiving someone who's wronged you and asking for forgiveness when we make a mistake. We do and will make mistakes because we're all human. Be gentle with yourself.

And learn to forgive. I came across this quote many years ago and need to be reminded of it from time to time:

Forgiveness doesn't make the other person right, it makes you free.  ~Stormie Omartian

Have a great weekend everyone!

Art Journaling & WishBIG ecamp

Happy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well! I'm so sad that tonight is the last night we gather around the campfire at the WishBig ecamp at Wish Studio. I still have a few more days before I'm done with all the workshops but I sure am going to miss all the lovely, inspiring, and supportive ladies I've met "at camp."

Here's a couple art journal pages I worked on last night for Shannon Kinney-Duh's Play Create Reflect workshop:

I tend to be more calculated with my journaling so I loved Shannon inspring us to play like children. I just finished her guided meditation and gentle yoga practice and loved it! Her voice is so comforting and soothing which was much needed after an emotionally trying day. Thanks go out to Mindy, the workshop facilitators, and each of the wonderful women I've met these past 10-days!

Have a wonderful evening, creative spirits!

Weekend Recap - Celebrating spring & creating vision cards

I can't believe it's already Sunday evening! Where does the weekend go? I have to say that I was productive with mine...mostly. :-)

Spring is my favorite time of year. I love opening up the windows and letting some fresh air in before the humidity becomes unbearable and the a/c must come on. My roses begin to bloom and the yard work starts. I spent the last few weekends cleaning up the borders around my front walkway and porch in anticipation of new dutch peonies and climbing roses to arrive for planting. Those were planted plus these lovelies that I picked up from Lowe's:

Petunia on the left and African Daisy on the right. I can't wait until the roses and peonies begin to bloom!

You know what else I love about Spring? It feels so refreshing, like a brand new start. A clean slate. A new beginning. You purge all the weeds (bad habits, negativity, time-wasters, etc.), prepare the soil (journal, plan, mind-map, resolutions), and you place new life into the earth (new business, idea, art). What a wonderful rebirth! Let's celebrate spring by purging and preparing for our new hatchlings. Plant those seeds and watch the beauty unfurl!

I also played catch-up this weekend on assignments for the WishBIG ecamp over at Wish Studio. If you didn't sign up for this you're really missing out on great lessons and an encouraging community. Here's one of the assignments I worked on from Jamie Ridler's class on making intuitive vision cards:

The one on the left is my love/relationship card, the right is my health/fitness card, and the center is my business/creativity card. I made them on card stock that I'll slip in page protectors and keep near my desk to be inspired by. So fun and great wishes to send out to the universe!

I hope you come back tomorrow because there's one more thing I worked on this weekend that I want to give to you as a gift for sharing this creative journey with me. See you tomorrow!

XOXO,
