Monday Musings - Sharing Kindness

If you haven’t read this post at Kind Over Matter where Kelly Rae Roberts was a guest, please stop by KOM and read it.

Kelly Rae is such a beautiful spirit and discusses how she is not very good at feeling kindness when it is given.  I totally get what she’s saying! Over the years I’ve learned to accept compliments from others as opposed to brushing them off, “I love that shirt! It looks great on you!” to which I would reply, “Thanks but I think it makes me look fat.” And graduated to, “Oh thanks. That purse is awesome!” That would be deflection, my dear. I accepted the comment but exchanged the negativity for uncomfortableness to a compliment and then sent a compliment back to them. Is that really any better? I never really felt, like Kelly shared, the full happiness in my heart, the thankfulness deep in my soul. It’s okay to feel. It’s okay to allow their kindness to seep into you. It’s okay to accept a compliment as it is.

Her post really resonated with me and allowed me an “aha!” moment that I just needed to share. (giggle) I guess I just needed to share the kindness! Have a great day and spend time with your sweeties today!

On the Web - THIS Moment ecourse

When I got home from work today I took a little "me time" to work on my worksheets from Mindy Tsonas ecourse THIS Moment. I'm really enjoying the worksheets and Mindy's inspiration. I felt so encouraged as I worked on these that underneath all my fears and worries are my dreams waiting to be released and explored. I know they're there but sometimes it takes a little uncovering and examination to be able to completely release them out into the universe.

This weeks finds:

~ Last week I shared with you Vivienne McMaster's 14 Days of Self-Love series. This week she posted this beautiful pictorial post, Work In Progress.

~ Kind Over Matter added another awesome printable this week, a Valentine's Love Banner.

~ Scoutie Girl posted this inspiring post on her blog about crafting goals and shared a free goals worksheet at the end of the post. Brittni from Papernstitch guest blogged on Discovering Your True Goals and shared a Track This! worksheet.

~ iHanna shared a wealth of resources on printable calendars and planners here.

~ I signed up this week for Jennifer Lee's *free* The Right-Brainers in Business Video Summit virtual retreat on February 28th - March 11th. Go here for more info. I ordered her newly released book, The Right Brain Business Plan today from Amazon. Inspiration!

~ I also signed up this week for Christy Tomlinson's The She Art Workshop which begins February 28th. Yea!

Ahh...I see the weekend approaching! Have a great rest of the week!

How To Be Alone

This video has been circulating on the web lately and is absolutely beautiful. It's called How To Be Alone by Tanya Davis and Andrea Dorfman. If you haven't seen it yet, please take a few minutes to watch it.

I first saw it here: http://www.viviennemcmaster.com/blog/2011/2/5/day-5-of-14-days-of-self-love-how-to-be-alone.html

Monday Musings - You are enough!

We women spend so much time criticizing ourselves and refusing to accept the compliments we receive from our dear ones. Why are we so quick to judge ourselves and view ourselves in a negative light? We are beautiful, confident, powerful women who deserve to recognize the beauty that radiates in us, from us, and around us.

You are a stunning beacon of light that reflects in your personality, your children, your artwork, your craft - from anything and everything you put out into the world. A piece of us is attached to all we create and we must honor that beauty and that magnificence.

Ladies, look in the mirror today and tell yourself, "I am enough!" and really, really believe it in the depths of your soul. You don't need to internally batter yourself with doubtful and negative self-talk. Let your light shine into the world and accept the truth that you are enough.

Weekend Recap

How come the weekend arrives so slowly and passes so quickly? As promised Friday, here is the painting I've been working on this weekend for the Get Your Paint On class, as mentioned here:
The week one assignment was to take inspiration for the quilts of Gees Bend. This was my inspiration piece:
These quilts are absolutely beautiful! The painting is not something I usually do but was great to take me out of my comfort zone, albeit quite time consuming. I'm happy with how it turned out and can't wait to see what the next assignment is. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

On the Web

Paint My Love - photo credit
Happy Friday everyone! It has been a crazy, busy week hasn't it? I started the Get Your Paint On class this week and was working on my first assignment tonight. I should have that painting done tomorrow and can share with you. I also finished the book Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos from my book list. It took me a few chapters to get into it but it turned into a very sweet book.

Here's what I found on the web this week:

- Becky Higgins shared two super cute items this week. One is this darling Love One Another print. Be sure to check out some of Becky's other dowloadables on the same page. The second item are these Valentine's Day fruit stickers from Twig & Thistle. I just might have to sneak one of the I'm going bananas over you! or You're the apple of my eye! stickers on my son's fruit for his lunch.

- Vivienne McMaster began an inspiring daily series this month on the 14 Day of Self-Love leading up to Valentines Day. A quote she shared on Day 1 from her friend really resonated with me, "If someone stops seeing how beautiful you are it's not because you stopped being beautiful, it's just 'cause they closed their eyes." Those words hold a lot of truth.

- Wish Studio announced the virtual retreat wishBIG ecamp on March 21-27th. Registration opens on Valentine's Day. So exciting!

- Kind Over Matter shared the Free Compliments Poster to spread a little love in the workplace. Amanda also blogged here on the correct way to share PDFs online to give blog love for the artists' hard work.

- Last but certainly not least, if you're a blogger and a planner this might be right up your alley. Create as Folk shared these printable blog planners, yearly and monthly (February).

Okay, I'm ridiculously tired and ready to crash. I hope you're weekend is off to a great start!

Wishcasting Wednesday: What burden do you wish to put down?

Today's Wishcasting Wednesday question:  What burden do you wish to put down?
This is an easy one to answer but not so easy to live. I wish to put down my need for perfection. As most of us are, we never believe we are good enough. Striving to be better at something is one thing but berating ourselves for not being as good at something as we believe we should be is another. I am good enough. I am imperfectly perfect!

Have a great week!
