AEDM :: Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of Art Every Day Month!

I've been working on this canvas the last couple of days. Although it's not complete I did get quite a bit of work done on it today. I'm finishing up Brave Girls Art School and creating a soul sisters canvas is one of the assignments. The most important person in my life is my son so I decided that this canvas should depict us walking the path of life together.

The flowers blooming before us represent how we learn and grow when we are on the correct path. The house represents our home and how I wish for him to always find his way back home. The heart on the house is because home is where the heart is.

I used various scrap fabric to create our clothing.

Here is my faux brick path.

The house was created with scrap fabric and a bit of glitter. Shouldn't every house have glitter on it? :-)

The background is modeling paste with two shades of green paint to create a nice texture.

Thanks for stopping by for Day 1!

Hugs,

Beautiful-- I love this. I especially love that you're walking with your son on the path of your life. I find this inspirational both in technique and in meaning. So glad I found you through Jamie's Wishcasting.

What a lovely piece! I really liked how you used fabric for the clothes.

Hi Amanda, I'm also doing AEDM and thought I'd see what some of the others were up to. You have really created a great piece here. I was a single mom for a lot of years and maybe it's because my son left home this year your collage really speaks to me. I love the warm feeling of your arm around your son. I miss those years!
