Today my RAOK was delivering blessing bags to the local homeless shelter. If you're on Pinterest you may have seen this image pinned and repinned:

I picked up the supplies over the weekend hitting up the Dollar General to get more bang for the buck. I bagged each one and added a note with a scripture (printed from Sweet Blessings). Instead of handing them out on the street I went to our homeless shelter, Panama City Rescue Mission, and gave the box to the coordinator who then handed them out. I was still there so I was able to see how excited everyone was to get a bag. It felt so good. I wasn't able to make as many bags as I would like so I will definitely make a part two to this.
In case you were wondering what went into the bags:
toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, chapstick, bandaids, deodorant, granola bars, raisins, applesauce, pack of gum, and a bottle of water in a gallon size ziplock
I also wanted to share this Kindness 101 video with you in hopes that it makes you giggle with happiness like I did watching it. :-D
Have a beautiful day!

what an awesome thing you did packing those bags! really makes me think, when someone can get excited about toothpaste and a toothbrush and i take those things for granted! loved the video also...thanks for sharing! i always look forward to your posts :)
Thanks, I'm glad you like the posts! I was a little worried right before dropping the bags off that they would be cheesy and useless but my fears were quickly put to ease. In our day-to-day lives we fail to notice the simple things, the things we take for granted. Have a great day!
I so love your idea. What a very nice thing for you to do. I am so interested in your other ROAK!
Wow Amanda! What an amazingly giving, loving and kind thing to do! I'll bet it was fun to shop and pack up those bags. Thank you for sending some love into the world!
